My Fight, My Life, My views on life
Family
There are times in your life that your family just annoys the crap out of you and you wish that they’d not bother you.
This isn’t one of them. For me this holiday season is a bit more special. You see I’m not “supposed” to be here. I died a couple of times this year and I was given only a couple of months to live. Hell I wasn’t even supposed to see my birthday in May but I did. Then with my Thanksgiving holidays being as they were it, to actually be able to fly across the country to see my parents is special.
On Vandalism
Everyone has his or her morning routine. Some can’t start the day without their cup of Joe, some need a full breakfast and some just dash out the door.
My morning routine includes either a trip the girls’ house to get pills and a once over or a trip to the clinic to have blood drawn.
This morning was a clinic morning.
I’ve been patron of this fine establishment for over six years now, so they know me by name. You could say they know me by vein…(puns are fun). Anyway, I have a vascular system much like China has a wall. It’s large. I’ve been told you can see if from space. And like the Great Wall of China, it keeps out the Huns… no, wait. I mean it’s very hard to miss. Continue reading
Reminders when you least expect them
A friend of mine sends out these blanket emails of quotes. She doesn’t do it everyday just once in awhile. With everything that’s been going on lately with me her quote that she sent yesterday was very fitting. Thanks Glo

Big Wheel Keep On Turning
Today we decided instead of going to the clinic that we’d go to the hospital for my blood draw and follow ups. Before we went though we stopped by Toys-R-Us and got three big Wheels and a Green machine.
When we got to the hospital we went up to the 7th floor, Pediatrics Oncology. The nurses just smiled when they saw me and the boxes knowing that I was there to cause some mischief. One of the janitors helped me put all of the big wheels together since I had not thought far enough ahead to bring tools. Once they were all put together the nurses went around and got the able bodied kids and we had races around the wing.
Have you ever tried to fit on a Big Wheel as an adult? Even as small as I am I was eating my knees. Now try to make it around slick linoleum floor 5 times, racing these mutant munchkins that had rocket powered jet packs on theirs. I not only got beat, I got destroyed by them lapping me not once but twice. Then, to add humiliation to it, they ran circles around me giggling and laughing as I tried to keep up with them.
Now I have a bad headache, not from a seizure or a tumor but from laughing so much.
I haven’t felt this good in a long time.
Know when to push your luck…
The people that know me know I’m a Smart-Alec, if you leave yourself open I’m going to generally say something. Well Bea is very used to me and my comments and she counters them with her own shall we say style.
So last night I was over at their place playing my game and just relaxing. Around 8 or so she hands me my nights pills I noticed that there was an extra one in the bunch. When I asked about it she said, “so you sleep”.
Well I love to push my luck and I asked, “What if I don’t want to take it?”
Her reply was to hold up a needle and syringe. She just smiled at me and gave me “the look.”
Anyone who has ever had a nurse for any period of time knows “the look”.
I took the pill.
